EDA was founded by James Joseph in 2019 to streamline data for complex clinical trials. Whether it's creating bespoke utilities to extract new types of data or adding new elements to dynamic visualizations, one thing was clear: researchers want to explore patient data as soon as it is collected.

That's why our team focuses on the defining the data correctly, from start to finish, the first time, every time. To do so, we attract exceptional programmers with an insatiable curiosity, people who are accountable and autonomous. 
 

Our members are actively involved in initiatives like the CDISC Study Data Standards working group, which defines conformance rules for SDTM IG 4.0, and the PHUSE Real World Evidence working group, which drafts guidance for statistical programming. We are also dedicated to volunteering efforts that improve the submission, review, and traceability of clinical trial data, specifically Dataset-JSON and SDTM-RWD. For those unfamiliar with our work, EDA also sponsors events within the Pittsburgh community, statewide, and nationally.
